This calculator is designed to give you an indication of the annual level of contribution required to meet your income in retirement. The calculation is based on the following assumptions, and therefore does not guarantee that the level of contribution indicated will meet your retirement income. Please consult an adviser for a complete assessment of your position.

Assumptions:

  • Investment earnings are constant
  • Contributions are paid annual in advance
  • Contributions and retirement income increases with inflation of 3%
  • Retirement age is 65
  • Investment earnings are net of tax and fees
  • Superannuation investment earnings before retirement are 6.5%
  • Superannuation investment earnings after retirement are 7.0%
  • Ordinary investment earnings are 5%
  • Income in retirement is for the length of life expectancy based on the Australian Life Table 1995-1997
